Oh the Places Eagles Will Go…

by Marcus Stefanide

The Eagle Nation Fan Section (ENFS) is a major presence at all Eastern Michigan University home matches. Whether it’s Rynearson Stadium, the Convocation Center, or Oestrike Stadium, EMU’s student section comes out in full force to cheer on our beloved Eagles to victory. This home field advantage is crucial at all sporting events. This is why Eagle Nation spreads their collective wings and brings a little bit of EMU flavor to visiting venues.

In recent history, the Eagle Nation Fan Section has traveled to numerous sites to support EMU athletics. The student section travels to our conference opponents every year (Central Michigan, Western Michigan, etc.). In the past few years, ENFS has traveled to the Big House in Ann Arbor (Michigan), Beaver Stadium (Penn State), and Spartan Stadium (Michigan State). In 2011, Eagle Nation made its first appearance at the NCAA tournament at Purdue University to cheer on the women’s basketball team when they were pitted against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The future is only getting brighter. In 2013, the Eagles will be traveling to Rutgers University and Army for what is set to be some exciting football games. In 2014, Eagle Nation will be headed to The Swamp in Gainesville, Florida to watch the Eagles play Florida University, and in 2015 EMU will be playing the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

There are some upcoming basketball games that will be interesting tests for the Eagles. Eagle Nation will be making road trips to Ann Arbor to watch the men beat Michigan in the Chrysler Center on December 20th and to Lexington, Kentucky to watch the Eagles upset the Kentucky Wildcats.

There are exciting times coming for the traveling Eagles, and we would love for people to join us as we cheer on our teams to vic-tor-y! If you’re looking to see new sights, enjoy traveling, or love Eastern Michigan athletics, then these upcoming games are just what the doctor ordered.
