Navigating Your Meal Plan

by Hannah Hilbert

There is no reason to go hungry on Eastern Michigan University’s campus; with FOUR major dining locations and myriad other grab-and-go options, the possibilities are endless!  So the only reason an EMU student would be asking “please, sir… can I have some more?” would be because the food is just that good!

For Freshman, there are 3 dining options:
Platinum (3 per day M-F, 2 on Sa, 1 on Su)

Gold (2 per day M-Sa, 1 on Su)

Silver (8 per week)

An example of how to fill up a Platinum Meal Plan:

  • Starbucks breakfast – Grande java chip frappuccino & Banana walnut bread
  • Sunset Strips lunch – Popcorn chicken basket with Fries and a Ginger Ale
  • Eagle Cafe dinner – 3-Bean salad with Potato Skin chips and a bottled Iced Tea

  • Commons brunch – All-you-can-eat-buffet
  • Einstein Bagels dinner – Veggie sandwich with Lays chips and a Root beer
  • Upper Crust late-night snack – Personal cheese pizza with breadstick and a Cherry Pepsi

  • Eateries breakfast – 2 Donuts, an Orange, and a ‘Green Machine’ Naked juice
  • E – Grill lunch – Cheeseburger with Fries and a Pepsi Max
  • Green Market Bistro dinner – Pita/Hummus plate and a cup of Mushroom soup

  • Freshens breakfast – Peach Sunset smoothie and a Plain bagel with cream cheese
  • International Kitchen lunch – Steak tips over rice with Green beans and a Lemonade
  • Sushi dinner – Assorted rolls with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce

  • Commons brunch – Grilled cheese Friday all-you-can-eat-buffet
  • Salsa Grill dinner – Beef crunch wrap with tortilla chips and a Diet Pepsi
  • Freshens ice cream snack – Large blue moon ice cream in a dish & a bag of Ruffles chips for the room

  • Wrap-It-Up lunch – Breaded chicken wrap in a spinach tortilla with Raspberry iced tea
  • Upper Crust dinner – Chicken pasta bake with breadstick and a Sprite

  • Market Place lunch – Fettuccini alfredo with Peas, a roll, and a Pepsi

Although it’s not your mothers cooking, at least she can rest easy knowing you aren’t starving. Where is your favorite place to eat on campus?
